The MARCH OF DIMES campaign to fight polio was founded by President
Franklin D. Roosevelt. He had contracted polio himself at the age of 39.
President Roosevelt and Basil O’Conner, organizer of the MARCH OF

TV SHOW INSPIRED BY I LOVE LUCY
My Little Margie premiered on CBS as a summer sitcom replacement
for I love Lucy in 1952, sponsored by Philip Morris cigarettes.The show
alternated TV networks between CBS and NBC until the final episode
aired in 1955.
