Ray Recorded several songs that were minor hits prior to this one. “The
Wonder of You” made it to the Top 4o of the Billboard Hot 100 chart
on June 15, 1959. The song was later recorded by Elvis Presley.

SANDRA DEE WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1942

Actress Sandra Dee (April 23, 1942 – February 20, 2005) She began
her career as a model and progressed to film. Dee won a Golden Globe
Award in 1959 as one of the year’s most promising newcomers, and over
several years her films were popular. By the late 1960s her career had
started to decline, and a highly publicized marriage to Bobby Darin ended
in divorce. She rarely acted after this time, and her final years were marred
by illness; she died as a result of renal failure.

Shirley Temple Black is a film and TV actress, singer, dancer, and
autobiographer. She was a former U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and
Czechoslovakia. Shirley began her film career in 1932 at the age of
three, and in 1934, skyrocketed to superstardom in Bright Eyes, a
feature film made specifically to showcase her talents. She received
a special Academy Award in February 1935, and film hits such as
Curly Top, and Heidi followed year after year during the mid to late
1930s. Shirley appeared in a few films in her mid to late teens, and
retired completely from films in 1950 at the age of 22. She is the
recipient of many awards and honors including Kennedy Center
Honors and a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award.
