FIRST TV SPECIAL ON THIS DATE IN 1973
James Paul McCartney is title of a 1973 television special produced by
ATV and starring former Beatle, Paul McCartney and his then current rock
group Wings. It was first broadcasted in April 16, 1973 in the United States
on the ABC network and was later broadcasted in the United Kingdom on
May 10, 1973. To date the program has never been officially released on
any home video format.
FIBBER MCGEE & MOLLY DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1936
Fibber McGee and Molly Show was one of the longest-running comedies of the
old-time radio era. The series premiered on the NBC Network in 1935 and remained popular until its demise in 1959. The stars of the program were real-life husband
James "Jim" Jordan and his wife Marian Driscoll. Each episode featured an appearance by announcer Harlow Wilcox (below) who was also the pitchman for the shows long time sponsor, Johnson Wax.
