TONY DOW BECAME 66 TODAY
Tony Lee Dow is a former television child actor of the 1950s and 1960s, who
is now a film producer and director. Dow is best known for his role in the CBS-
TV sitcom Leave it to Beaver, which ran from 1957 to 1963. Dow played "Wallace
‘Wally’ Cleaver" the older son of "June" (Barbara Billingsley) and "Ward Clever"
(Hugh Beaumont) and the brother of "Theodore ‘Beaver’ Cleaver” (Jerry Mathers,
seen below).
ALAN FREED’S EASTER JUBLIEE OPENED ON THIS DATE IN 1957
"Alan Freed’s Easter Jubilee of Stars" opened for a ten-day run at the Brooklyn
Paramount Theater in New York! All the Rock and Roll stars of the day were
there, sometimes over 20 acts in a show and all for just a $2.50 ticket. Among
many featured artists were La Vern Baker, The Flamingos, The Platters, Buddy
Holly, The Everly Brothers, and Jerry Lee Lewis, just to name a few. Great closers
included Jackie Wilson, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino.These class
acts were all backed up by the Alan Freed “Big Beat Orchestra” led by Sam “the
Man” Taylor.

DAVID CASSIDY IS 61 YEAR’S OLD TODAY
David Bruce Cassidy is a actor, singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best
known for his role as the character of Keith Partridge in the 1970s musical
sitcom The Partridge Family on ABC-TV from September 25, 1970 – March
23, 1974. He was one of the most celebrated teen idols, enjoying a very
successful music career in the 1970s, and is still performing. He has a
scheduled performance in London today and a birthday party during
the show is planned.
