The first Walkman model, TPS L2

The original Walkman was a personal tape player built in 1978 by the Sony
corporation in Japan as an alternative to the home stereo system. It allowed
the listener to carry music with them and listen to it through small lightweight headphones.The Walkman was first introduced and marketed on July 1,1979.

Steve Allen, no fan of rock and roll, introduced a "new Elvis" in a white bow tie
and black tails. Presley sang "Hound Dog" for less than a minute to a basset
hound wearing a top hat and bow tie. Elvis later commented that the Allen
show appearance was the most ridiculous performance of his career.

The Battle of San Juan Hill, also known as the battle for the San Juan Heights, was
a decisive battle of the Spanish-American War in Cuba. The names San Juan Hill
and Kettle Hill were names given by the Americans. This fight for the heights was the bloodiest and most famous battle of the War. It was also the location of the greatest victory for the Rough Riders (pictured below) as claimed by the press and its new commander, the future Vice-President and later President, Theodore Roosevelt. He
was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor in 2001 for his victorious actions in
Cuba. Overlooked then by the American Press, much of the heaviest fighting was
done by African-American troops.

Dan Aykroyd is a Canadian comedian, actor, screenwriter, and musician. He was
an original cast member of Saturday Night Live on NBC-TV from, 1975 to 1979,
and originator of The Blues Brothers in 1978 with John Belushi and Ghostbusters
(1984). Aykroyd has had a long career as a film actor and screenwriter.
