and was America’s longest-running prime time, live-action drama with 635
episodes. The show aired on the CBS television network.

BARBARA STANWYCK
(July 16, 1907 – January 20, 1990)
Barbara Stanwyck was a film and television star, known during her 60-year career
as a skillful and versatile professional with a strong screen presence. After a short
but notable career as a stage actress in the late 1920s, she made 85 films in 38
years in Hollywood, before turning to television. Her 1961 to 1962 series The
Barbara Stanwyck Show was not that big a success but earned her first Emmy
Award. The ABC-TV series The Big Valley (1965-1969) made her one of the
most popular actresses on television, winning her another Emmy. Barbara
Stanwyck is ranked as the eleventh greatest female stare of all time by the
American Film Institute.
SCREEN LEGEND GINGER ROGERS
(July 16, 1911 – April 25, 1995)
During her long career, Ginger Rogers made a total of 73 films, and is noted for
her role as Fred Astaire’s romantic interest and dancing partner in a series of
ten Hollywood musical films. She also achieved great success in a variety of
other film roles and won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her work in
Kitty Foyle (1940). She ranks #14 on the AFI’s 100 Years…100 Stars list of
actress screen legends.
