Wesley Earl "Wes" Craven, the actor, film director, writer, and producer is
perhaps best known as the director of numerous horror films, including
the famed A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) which featured the iconic
character Freddy Krueger and was the feature film debut of actor
Johnny Depp.
