Dinah Washington has been cited as "the most popular black female
recording artist of the ’50s”. She is a 1986 inductee of the Alabama
jazz Hall of Fame and was also induced into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame in 1993.
Dinah Washington won a Grammy Award in 1959 for Best Rhythm
and Blues Performance with this song. It was also inducted into
the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998 and earned Dinah her first
top ten Pop hit, reaching #8 on the Billboard Hot 100.
