(October 6, 1906 – September 14, 1984)
Janet Gaynor was one of the most popular actresses of the silent film
era. In 1928 Gaynor became the first and only winner of the Academy
Award for Best Actress for her performances in three different films:
Seventh Heaven (1927), Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927) and
Street Angel (1928). Her career continued with the advent of talking
pictures when she achieved success in the original version of A Star
Is Born (1937).
Just viewed Sunrise the other evening, 9-15-13! I was spell bound watching this film, how interesting and compelling to sit and find out the ending! Thank you Turner Broadcasting for the great evening!
