RADIO SHOW MADE TV DEBUT ON THIS DATE IN 1952

This Is Your Life
is a television documentary series, originally hosted by
its producer, Ralph Edwards (above). It was broadcast on NBC from
Wednesday October 1, 1952 till 1961. Edwards revived the show in
1971-1972 and returned for some specials in the late 1980s, before
his death in 2005. This Is Your Life originated as a radio show on
NBC Radio airing from 1948 to 1952.

Night of the Living Dead
is a 1968 independent black-and-white zombie horror film directed by George A. Romero. It was completed on a $114,00 budget and, after
decades of cinematic re-releases, it grossed $12 million domestically and $18 million internationally. Night of the Living Dead was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry as a film deemed “Culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.
