Paul Frederic Simon is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who, along with
Art Garfunkel, is best known for being part of the duo Simon & Garfunkel
beginning in 1965. Simon wrote most of the pair’s songs, including three
chart toppers, “The Sound of Silence”,”Mrs. Robinson”, and “Bridge Over
Troubled Water”. The duo split in 1970, and Simon began a successful
solo career. He has earned 13 Grammy’s, and the Lifetime Achievement
Award. Paul Simon was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in
2001. In 2007, he was the first recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular
Song from the Library of Congress.
