merman&bornine married

mr. and mrs borgnine

The wedding of Broadway singer Ethel Merman and Oscar winning actor Ernest
Borgnine is one of the shortest in Hollywood history. The marriage began falling
apart on their honeymoon and it was soon dissolved after 32 days.

Merman, who never again married, devoted a chapter of her autobiography to
the Borgnine marriage: It consisted of one blank page.

year, a very public divorce followed and was finalized on June 27, 1975. Three
days later Cher married rock musician Gregg Allman, a founding member of
the Allman Brothers Band. That union lasted just three years.
