LEO HEARD FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THIS DAY IN 1928
This undated photo shows Leo The MGM Lion getting ready for his cameo
shot that would make movie history.
MGM’s Leo the lion roared for the first time. He introduced MGM’s
first talking picture, "White Shadows on the South Seas." The film
was directed W.S. Van Dyke and starred Monte Blue. It won an
Oscar in 1928-29 for Best Cinematography.
A MUSICAL MEMORY FROM THE VOGUES
“Five O’clock World” was released in November of 1965
and peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 15–22 January
1966.
The Vogues were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001 and remain one of the top vocal groups on the oldies scene today even though their first hit, "You’re the One," was released over 40 years ago.

Industrialist, Henry Ford was the founder of the Ford Motor Company and
maker of the Model T automobile. He became one of the richest and best-
known people in the world.
Henry Ford sits at the tiller of the first car he made, in 1896
when he was 33. With him are his wife and Grandson
