People Ed McMahon

  Edward Peter "Ed" McMahon, Jr. (March 6, 1923 – June 23, 2009)

McMahon was a comedian, game show host and announcer. He is best
remembered as the announcer and sidekick on the The Tonight Show
with Johnny Carson on NBC from 1962 to 1992. He also was the host of
the original version of Star Search on CBS from 1983 to 1995. McMahon
also co-hosted TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes with Dick Clark from 1982
to 1998 on NBC and ABC.

ANDY GIBB WAS BORN 54 YEARS AGO TODAY

(March 5, 1958 – March 10, 1988)

Andy Gibb was an English singer and the youngest bother of the Bee
Gees: Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb.

While working on a new album in London, he entered a local hospital,
complaining of chest pains. He died five days after his 30th birthday
as a result of an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a viral
infection.

SOVIET DICTATOR DIED ON THIS DAY IN 1953

Stalin 

Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin’s health had deteriorated towards the
end of World War II. The official cause of death was listed as a heart
attack. He was 74.
