OLDEST NEWSPAPER ON THE WEST COAST
The Oregonian is a daily newspaper originating in Portland, Oregon, owned by
Advance Publications. It is the oldest continuously published newspaper on the
U.S. west coast and was founded as a weekly by Thomas J. Dryer on December
4, 1850. The newspaper is the largest in the state of Oregon and the Pacific
Northwest by circulation and the 19th largest daily newspaper in the country.
The Oregonian announced Thursday that it will reduce home delivery to 4
days and make reductions in staff as part of a series of changes, effective
October 1.

Singer/songwriter Brian Wilson is a founding member of the Beach
Boys. He wrote or co-wrote more than two dozen Top 40 hits for the
group. As the result of mental health issues, Wilsons contributions
to the Beach Boys diminished in the mid 1960s and he underwent
years of treatment and recuperation. He began a solo career for a
in 1988. Wilson remains a member of the Beach Boys corporation,
