Humphrey DeForest Bogart (December 25, 1899 – January 14, 1957)
In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Bogart as the greatest male star
in the history of American cinema. During a film career of almost 30 years,
he appeared in 75 feature films. Bogart was nominated for several awards
including the BAFTA award for best foreign actor in 1952 for The African
Queen and three Academy Awards.
The movie It’s a Wonderful Life is a 1946 Christmas fantasy comedy-drama
produced and directed by Frank Capra, based on the 1939 short story
"The Greatest Gift" by Philip Van Doren Stern. The film is considered one
of the most loved films in American cinema and has become traditional
viewing during the Christmas season, alongside popular classics such
as Holiday Inn (and its "remake", White Christmas), A Christmas Carol,
Meet Me in St. Louis, and Miracle on 34th Street.
