Sam Cooke (Samuel Cook) (January 22, 1931 – December 11, 1964)
Cooke, who was one of eight children of a Baptist minister, had 30 top 40
hits between 1957 and 1964, When he was only thirty-three he was fatally
shot at the Hacienda Motel in Los Angeles, California. His music inspired
all artists that followed him, including Stevie Wonder.
