POPULAR MAGAZINE DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1902

Popular Mechanics is a magazine of popular technology, featuring regular
sections on automotive, home, outdoors, and science topics. Originally
self-published by H.H. Windsor of the Popular Mechanics Company, it
became
a subsidiary of the Hearst Corporation in 1958. There are nine
international editions.

The Australian born actor has appeared in over 50 films, and is well known for
his leading roles in the science fiction classic The Time Machine (1960), and in
the Alfred Hitchcock horror thriller The Birds (1963). For a time Taylor worked
as a commercial artist after studying at a fine arts college.
