Former radio personality Casey Kasem is best known for being the host of the nationally syndicated Top 40 countdown show American Top 40 and for playing the character Shaggy in the Saturday morning cartoon franchise Scooby-Doo on CBS/ABC (1969-1986). Before fame, Kasem served in the U.S. Army in Korea.
Bobby won a talent competition on Paul Whitman’s TV Teen Club and became a regular on the series. Well known singles by the early 1960s teen idol include,”Wild One” and “Volare”. He also appeared in the 1963 film Bye Bye Birdie.
Rydell underwent major surgery In July 2012 when he had a double organ transplant to replace his liver and kidneys. In January 2013, six months after the surgery, he returned to the stage in Las Vegas for a three night gig to a sold out audience.
