‘SNL’ ANNOUNCER HAS DIED AT 96

Dominick George "Don" Pardo (February 22, 1918 – August 18, 2014)

Longtime NBC announcer Don Pardo, best known as the often-heard,
rarely-seen constant during 38 seasons of constant change at "Saturday
Night Live," died late Monday.

Pardo’s daughter, Donna, told the Associated Press her father passed
away at his home in Tucson, Arizona. He had moved to Arizona in 2006.

Billboard Hot 100 chart with "Volare" (Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu). The
song would become the year’s best selling record and win three
Grammy Awards.

Domenico Modugno (January 9, 1928-August 6, 1994) 

Mondugno died, at the age of 66, from a heart attack on the island of Lampedusa
(Sicily, Italy), while he was in his home by the sea.
