Colonel Harland David Sanders (September 9, 1890 – December 16, 1980)
Sanders was a businessman, best known for founding Kentucky Fried Chicken
(KFC), and later acted as the company’s goodwill ambassador and symbol.
Sanders held a number of jobs in his early life, such as a fireman, insurance
salesman and running filling stations. He began selling fried chicken from his
roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky, during the Great Depression.
