According to the co-writer and longtime group member Bob Gaudio, the
song was originally set in 1933 with the title "December 5th, 1933," and
celebrated the repeal of Prohibition.The lyrics were changed at the urgings
of Frankie Valli and lyricist Judy Parker.

BANDS KEYBOARDIST HAS DIED AT 67

Jimmy Greenspoon (February 7, 1948 – March 11, 2015)

Greenspoon was a keyboard player and composer, best known as a
member of the band Three Dog Night. He died from cancer in North
Potomac, Maryland Wednesday. He was diagnosed last year with
metastatic melanoma, and stopped touring with band.

CELEBRATING AN ANNIVERSARY TODAY ~

Girl Scouting in America began on this day, March 12, 1912, when Juliette
Gordon Low organized the first Girl Scout troop meeting.  At this first troop
meeting in Savannah, Georgia, there were 18 girls present. For these girls,
Low organized enrichment programs, service projects and outdoor activities
and adventures. Since the time of the first meeting, Girl Scouts has grown
to over 3.7 million members. The organization’s original name was the Girl
Guides of America.

Albert Gordon MacRae (March 12, 1921 – January 24, 1986)

Actor and singer Gordon MacRae is best known for his roles in the 
versions of two Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, Oklahoma!
(1955) and Carousel
(1956), and playing Bill Sherman in On
Moonlight Bay
(1951) and for his appearance in By The Light
of the Silvery Moon
 (1953).
He made his Broadway debut in
1942 and acquired his first recording contract soon afterwards.

Before fame, MacRae served as a navigator in the United States
Army
Air Forces during World War ll.
