He bas born in Jamaica, Queens, New York
.


Variety – George Coe, an actor with extensive credits and a
longtime activist in the Screen Actors Guild, died Saturday in
Santa Monica, Calif., after battling a long illness.

Coe acted for more than 50 years of film, TV, commercial and
stage work. He had a lengthy career as a commercial performer
both on camera and voiceover, including six years as the voice
of Toyota.

The dramatic radio program "G-men” aired initially on NBC, sponsored by
Chevrolet. The show was renamed "Gangbusters” in January 1936. After
the title change, the show had a 21-year run with the final series on the
Mutual Broadcasting System from October 5, 1955 to November 27,1957.
