FORMER PRESIDENT DIED IN 1973
One of the last public photos (August 1972) of Lyndon
Johnson five months before his death.
After leaving the White House in 1968, L.B.J. returned to his
beloved home state, Texas, with his wife, Lady Bird Johnson,
and immersed himself in the activity dearest to him: ranching.
On January 22, 1973, former President Lyndon Baines Johnson
died in Johnson City, Texas having suffered a fatal heart attack
in his home at age 64.

After the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Johnson served
as the 36th president of the United States from 1963 to 1969.
