Edward Lodewijk Van Halen
(January 26, 1955 – October 6, 2020)

One of the most iconic guitars used by late rocker Eddie Van
Halen (above) is going up for auction, with his 1982 Kramer
expected to sell for millions.

New York auction house Sotheby’s will be handling the guitar’s
sale this fall as part of their inaugural Grails Week, which runs
from Oct. 21-28. 

Alfred Hitchcock, the British film director of "Psycho," "Rear
Window," "North by Northwest" and "Rebecca”,  is widely
regarded as one of the most influential figures in the history
of cinema with a career spanning six decades.

Former New York Yankees star Mickey Mantle died of liver
cancer at the age of 63. While he patrolled center field and
batted clean-up between 1951 and 1968, the Yankees won
12 American League pennants and seven World Series
championships.

Shortly after midnight on August 13, 1961, East German soldiers
began laying down barbed wire and bricks as a barrier between
Soviet-controlled East Berlin and the democratic western section
of the city.
