Ford is known for his portrayal of the titular character in the
popular media franchise Indiana Jones, beginning with the
action-adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). He
played the character in four additional sequels over the
next four decades and also starred as Rick Deckard in the
cult science fiction film Blade Runner (1982) and its sequel
Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and portrayed Jack Ryan in the
spy thriller films Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present
Danger (1994).

On July 6, 1994, the movie Forrest Gump, a comedy-drama film,
opened in theaters. A huge box-office success, the film stars
Tom Hanks in the title role of Forrest, a good-hearted man with
a low I.Q. who winds up at the center of key cultural and historical
events of the second half of the 20th century.

Forrest Gump was based on a 1986 novel of the same name by
Winston Groom who himself grew up in Alabama and served in
the Army during Vietnam.

On July 2, 1997, the science fiction-comedy movie Men in Black,
starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, opened in theaters
around the United States. The film grossed more than $250
million in America alone and helped establish the former sitcom
star Will Smith as one of Hollywood’s most bankable leading men.

Brando received numerous accolades throughout his career, which spanned six decades, including two Academy Awards, two Golden
Globe Awards, one Cannes Film Festival Award, and three British Academy Film Awards. Brando is credited with being one of the
first actors to bring the Stanislavski system of acting and method
acting to mainstream audiences.

Brando died of respiratory failure from pulmonary fibrosis with congestive heart failure at the UCLA Medical Center. The cause
of death was initially withheld, with his lawyer citing privacy
concerns. He also suffered from diabetes and liver cancer.
