VIDEO GAME HAS SOLD FOR SUPER PRICE

DALLAS (AP) — An unopened copy of Nintendo’s Super Mario
Bros. that was bought in 1986 and then forgotten about in a
desk drawer has
sold at auction for $660,000 Friday.

Heritage Auctions in Dallas said the video game was bought as
a Christmas gift but ended up being placed in a desk drawer,
where it remained sealed in plastic with its hang tab intact
until it was found earlier this year.

(FoxNews) – A one of a kind 1967
Chevrolet Corvette L88 is
scheduled to cross the block at the
Mecum Auctions event
in Glendale, Ariz., on March 20.

The coupe is one of 20 1967 Corvettes specified with the
L88 option package, which essentially turned them into 
competition cars.

YARD SALE ITEM RESOLD BIG AT AUCTION

(AP) – An exceptionally rare 15th century porcelain bowl made in
China that somehow turned up at a Connecticut yard sale and
sold for just $35 was auctioned off Wednesday for nearly
$722,000.

The small, white bowl adorned with cobalt blue paintings of
flowers and other designs — one of only seven such bowls
known to exist in the  world — was among a variety of Chinese
works of art sold by Sotheby’s as part of its Asia Week events.

The names of the seller and buyer were not disclosed.

GUITAR SELLS FOR A PRINCE OF A PRICE!

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — A custom guitar played by Prince at the height
of his stardom in the 1980s and 1990s has sold for a staggering $563,500 at
auction.

The “Blue Angel” Cloud 2 electric guitar skyrocketed beyond the estimate of $100,000 to $200,000 it was expected to fetch at the Music Icons sale run by
Julien’s Auctions on Friday and Saturday in Beverly Hills.

Prince played the blindingly blue guitar with the artist’s “love” symbol on its
neck beginning on the 1984 Purple Rain Tour, on the classic albums
“Lovesexy” and “Sign O’ The Times.” He used it into the early 1990s.

RACING LEGEND’S CAR TO BE AUCTIONED

WELCOME, N.C. (AP) — NASCAR team owner Richard Childress is auctioning off one of racing legend Dale Earnhardt’s cars to raise
money for coronavirus relief efforts.

The Charlotte Observer reports that this is the first time Childress
has sold or given away an original Earnhardt car from his personal collection.

A news release Thursday from Richard Childress Racing officials
doesn’t specify which of Earnhardt’s trademark No. 3 race cars is
up for auction.

Childress tweeted Friday that parting with one of his cars is “a
small sacrifice” for him to make.

Earnhardt died in a crash during the last lap of the Daytona 500
at Daytona International Speedway in 2001.

The eBay site for the auction doesn’t list a deadline for bidding
on items.
