Harvey Samuel Firestone
 (December 20, 1868 – February 7, 1938)

Businessman Harvey Firestone was the founder of the Firestone Tire
and Rubber Company, one of the first global makers of automobile
tires. His company supplied the tires for all Ford automobiles. At the
time, he was one of three leaders of American industry, alongside
Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. They often worked and vacationed
together.

After graduating from Columbiana High School, Firestone worked for
the Columbus Buggy Company in Columbus, Ohio before starting his
own company in 1890, making rubber tires for carriages.

BATMOBILE GOING UP FOR AUCTION!

The transformed one-of-a-kind 1955 Lincoln Futura

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Batman’s ride is up for sale — just the thing for cruising
on those Dark Knights.

The original Batmobile from the 1960s TV series will be auctioned on Jan. 19 at
the Barrett-Jackson auction house in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The 19-foot-long black, bubble-topped car was used in the ABC-TV show that
starred Adam West as the Caped Crusader.

Just like Batman, the Batmobile has its secrets. The auction house won’t say
how much it hopes to get for the car.
