ACTRESS TINA LOUISE IS 82 TODAY


Tina Louise (born Tina Blacke in  New york City)

Tina Louise played Ginger in the CBS sitcom Gilligan’s Island
(1964-1967). Her role in the 1958 film God’s Little Acre earned
her a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year. She began
studying acting, singing and dancing at the age of seventeen.

ACTOR JOE PESCI IS 73 TODAY


Joseph Frank "Joe" Pesci was born in Newark, New Jersey.

Pesci’s performance in Raging Bull (1980) earned him an Academy
Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also played the title
character in 1992’s My Cousin Vinny and the dimwitted burglar in the
Home Alone films beginning in 1990. He also played the character Leo
Getz in the Lethal Weapon film series beginning in 1987.

Joe Pesci began acting at age five and landed a role on the television
variety show Star time Kids when he was ten years old.

LOCAL HUMORIST HAS DIED AT 55


                               1960 – 2016

Stand-up comedian Dave Anderson was a Portland, Oregon native known by many
as a local television and radio personality. He died of pancreatic cancer Sunday
night. The disease had been diagnosed two years ago.

VETERAN STAGE ACTRESS IS 95 TODAY


Carol Elaine Channing was born in Seattle, Washington.

Broadway veteran Carol Channing is best known for her roles in Hello,
Dolly! and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She received an Oscar nomination,
a Golden Globe Award, and three Tony Awards. After attending high
school in San Francisco, she worked as a model in Los Angeles.

Barney Miller
retains a devoted following among real-life police officers,
who appreciate the show’s emphasis on dialog and believably quirky
characters, and its low-key portrayal of cops going about their jobs. It
won Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Comedy or Musical
Series
in 1976 and 1977 from a total of seven nominations. In 2013,
TV Guide ranked Barney Miller at #46 on its list of the 60 best series
of all time.
