NEW ALBUM FROM BAND TO BE RELEASED

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The wait is over: The Rolling Stones
will soon release new music.

On Monday, the band announced they are preparing to release
their first album of original material in 18 years — since 2005’s
"A Bigger Bang."

Titled "Hackney Diamonds," the band will share details of the
release at an event in East London’s Hackney district on
Wednesday.

Known as “the other guitarist” during the iconic group’s Brothers
in Arms era, his passing was announced by the band. No cause
of death was given.

The 1883 eruption of Krakatoa in the Sunda Strait occurred
from 20 May until 21 October 1883, peaking in the late
morning hours of 27 August when over 70% of the island
of
Krakatoa and its surrounding archipelago were destroyed
as it collapsed into a
caldera.

The eruption was one of the deadliest and most destructive
volcanic events in
recorded history.

SINGERS KILLER SENTENCED ON THIS DAY

John Lennon’s killer denied parole for ninth time

On August 24, 1981, Mark David Chapman (above) was sentenced
to 20 years to life for the
murder of John Lennon, a founding
member
 of
The Beatles, one of the most successful bands in the
history
of popular music.    


On December 8, 1980, Chapman shot and killed the 40-year-old
singer, songwriter and peace activist, outside Lennon’s New
York City apartment building, the Dakota, where he lived with
his wife Yoko Ono and their young son Sean.
