LEGENDARY PHOTOGRAPHER IS DEAD AT 80

SEATTLE (AP) — Jack Smith, an Associated Press photographer
who captured unforgettable shots of the eruption of Mount St.
Helens, the Exxon-Valdez oil spill, boxer Mike Tyson biting off
part of Evander Holyfield’s ear, and weeping figure skater Tonya
Harding at the Olympics during a 35-year career with the news organization, has died.

Smith passed away on Jan. 4 at his home in La Mesa, California.

According to his wife Judy, Smith had cancer and had been in
hospice care.

Earl Boen, the Silberman psychologist from 'Terminator' has died ...

Earl Boen ( August 8, 1941 – January 5, 2023)

Earl Boen, best known for his roles in the Terminator movies,
passed away Thursday in Hawaii.

Alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Boen appeared in three
of the Terminator films. According to
Variety, the voice and
character actor was 81 years old and had been diagnosed
with stage four lung cancer in the fall. Boen was an actor
who wasn’t a household name for many, yet he worked
consistently in film and television. Boen retired from on-
camera work in 2003 but nevertheless continued to do voice-
over until he officially retired from all acting work in 2017.

. She died from cancer at her home in
Los Angeles.

Pelé (Edson Arantes do Nascimento) (Brazilian/Portuguese)
(23 October 1940 – 29 December 2022)

He was a Brazilian professional footballer (soccer) who played
as a
forward. Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time
and labelled "the greatest" by
FIFA, he was among the most
successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.

In 1999, he was named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and was included in the Time list of the 100
most important people of the 20th century
. In 2000, Pelé was
voted
World Player of the Century
by the International Federation
of Football
History & Statistics (IFFHS) and was one of the two
joint winners of the
FIFA Player of the Century
. His 1,279 goals in
1,363 games, which
includes friendlies, is recognized as a
Guinness World Record. He died in a Brazilian hospital from
multiple organ failure, a complication of colon cancer.

Roger Eugene Maris
(September 10, 1934 – December 14, 1985)

Maris was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 1983.

In response, Maris organized the annual Roger Maris
Celebrity Golf Tournament to raise money for cancer
research and treatment.

Maris died of the disease at age 51 at M.D. Anderson Hospital
in
Houston, Texas. He was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery
in
Fargo, North Dakota.
