Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born at in Brooklyn, New York
City. He is 62 years old today.

As former professional basketball player MJ played 15 seasons
in the National Basketball Association between 1984 and 2003,
winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls.

He was integral in popularizing basketball and the NBA around
the world in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming a global cultural
icon.

His profile on the NBA website states, "By acclamation, Michael
Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time."

On February 10, 1996, after three hours, world chess champion
Garry Kasparov lost the first game of a six-game match against
Deep Blue, an IBM computer capable of evaluating 200 million
moves per second.

Man was ultimately victorious over machine, however, as
Kasparov bested Deep Blue in the match with three wins
and two ties and took home the $400,000 prize.

An estimated 6 million people worldwide followed the action
online.

Garry Kasparov will be 62 years old April 13th.

On September 15, 1978, boxer Muhammad Ali defeated Leon
Spinks at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans to win
the world heavyweight boxing title for the third time in his
career, the first fighter ever to do so. Following his victory,
Ali retired from boxing, only to make a brief comeback two
years later. Ali, who once claimed he could “float like a
butterfly, sting like a bee,” left the sport permanently in
1981.

Young Muhammad Ali (left) then known as Cassius Clay, knocked
out opponent Sonny Liston for his first world title in boxing on
this day in history, Feb. 25, 1964.

Twenty-two-year-old Clay achieved the unthinkable by dethroning
