EXTREMELY RARE COIN TO BE AUCTIONED

Described as the most valuable U.S. nickel in existence, a rare nickel
(above) from 1913 is expected to sell for between $3 million and $5
million at auction.

The auction house
stated the Eliasberg 1913 Liberty Head Nickel, one
of only five ever produced, will be auctioned by Stack’s Bowers
Galleries in August. “The other four 1913 Liberty Head Nickels have
gone on to private collectors and museums, including the Smithsonian”.

Named for Louis E. Eliasberg Sr., the banker and famed coin collector
who bought it in 1948, the nickel will be auctioned at the American
Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money, which runs from
Aug. 14 to 18 at Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Convention Center.

BIG PRICE TAG ON A PAIR OF DENIM PANTS

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A buyer with a penchant for vintage denim has
plunked down nearly $100,000 for a pair of truly vintage jeans that come
from the American Old West.

The 125-year-old Levi Strauss & Co. blue jeans, which failed to sell at
auction in 2016, now have a new owner somewhere in Southeast Asia.

The price puts it near record territory for old Levi’s. But the private sale
agreement prevents the disclosure of the exact price or the buyer’s
location. The buyer sent a representative to Maine to inspect the jeans
before buying them on May 15.

(FoxNews) – An x-ray that shows Elvis Presley’s broken pinky on his left hand that
he sustained after reportedly practicing karate is heading to auction next month.

Julien’s Auctions, which is behind the unusual sale, confirmed in their online catalog
the scan was ordered by the singer’s friend, Las Vegas-based physician Dr. Elias Ghanem. The two x-ray prints of Presley’s hand were taken on September 9, 1973
and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from widow Jody Ghanem.

LONG-LOST LINCOLN LETTER UP FOR SALE

Image result for long lost lincoln letter up for sale

A once lost letter written by Abraham Lincoln responding to accusations of getting
in the way of a corruption investigation, is worth more than $80,000 – and it is now
for sale. The letter was one of several that were left in an abandoned house and
lost for many years. It is dated Feb. 12, 1864 and was addressed to Secretary of
the Treasury Salmon Chase, who Lincoln believed was behind “all the mischief”
in an accusation that the nation’s 16th president was thwarting a congressional investigation of corruption.

Nathan Raab, the principal at The Raab Collection said…“This is a remarkable
find, we have no doubt it will find an appreciative new home.”
