William Conrad (born John William Cann, Jr.) was a actor, writer, producer and 
director whose career spanned five decades in radio, film and television. He
created the role of Marshall Matt Dillion for the popular CBS radio series,
Gunsmoke (1952–1961), and narrated the television adventures of Rocky
and Bullwinkle
(1959–1964) and The Fugitive on  ABC (1963-1967). Conrad
starred as a detective in the CBS-TV series Cannon (1971-1976), and in the
crime drama Jake and the Fatman on CBS (1987-1992).

Shaun Paul Cassidy is a actor, singer, writer and producer. He is the eldest
son of Academy Award winning actress Shirley Jones, and the second son
(his older half-brother is David Cassidy) of Tony award-winning actor Jack
Cassidy. Shaun is known for his role in the ABC- TV series The Hardy Boys-
Nancy Drew Mysteries
from 1977 to 1979. While still in high school, Cassidy
signed a contract with Warner Bros. Records and began recording music. A
series of singles were released, leading to a debut album in 1977. The album
netted Cassidy a Grammy nomination (for Best New Artist) and a number one
single, "Da Doo Ron Ron”. Cassidy concentrated on stage acting for most of
the 1980s and early 1990s.

Hawaii Five-O is a police drama series set in Hawaii. The show was
given the title in honor of Hawaii’s status as the 50th State.The series
originally ran for twelve seasons on CBS from Thursday September
26, 1968 to April 4, 1980 and continues in reruns. The series starred
Jack Lord as state police lead Detective Steve McGarrett. The theme
music for Hawaii Five-O was composed by Morton Stevens and has
been covered by many musicians.

POLICE DRAMA PEMIERED ON THIS DATE IN 1968

until August 23, 1973. It was loosely based on the the experiences of the shows
creator Bud Ruskin’s as a squad leader for undercover narcotics police officers
in the late 1950s.
