OLDEST LIVING NASCAR CHAMP HAS DIED

Happy 90th birthday to Rex White! After battling polio as a child, he'd go  on to win 28 NASCAR Cup races and the 1960 title. He's currently the oldest  living NASCAR champion. :

(FOX NEWS) – Rex White, who was NASCAR’s oldest living
champion and a 2015 inductee into the Hall of Fame, has
died. He was 95.

NASCAR and the NASCAR Hall of Fame confirmed White’s
death on Friday. No additional details were provided.

NASCAR chairman Jim France said, ‘Rex epitomized the
formative days of NASCAR – a true pioneer whose
contributions helped shape the foundation of our sport.’

(FOX News) – A Texas archaeologist couple recently unearthed the
ancient tomb of a legendary king in Central America — a feat
that’s been over 40 years in the making.

Arlen Chase and Diane Chase (above) both professors with the
University of Houston, uncovered the fourth-century tomb at
the
Caracol archaeological site
in Belize.  
  

The discovery revealed a jade death mask, pottery vessels and
evidence of extensive trade networks from 350 AD. The find
was shared by the university on July 10.

Edward “Ted” Kennedy of Massachusetts drives an Oldsmobile
off a wooden bridge into a tide-swept pond. Kennedy escaped
the
submerged car, but his passenger, 28-year-old Mary Jo
Kopechne, did not. The senator did not report the fatal car
accident for 10 hours.

Connie Francis, 'Pretty Little Baby' singer, dead at 87
Connie Francis (Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero)
(December 12, 1937 – July 16, 2025)

(Hollywood Reporter) -  Pop singer Connie Francis died
Wednesday.  A cause of death has not been revealed,
but Francis had been hospitalized earlier this month
after experiencing what she
described as "extreme pain."

She underwent a series of tests and examinations while
in
intensive care and was later transferred to a private
room.
