TURNER, Ore. — The man behind Oregon’s iconic Enchanted
Forest amusement park in Turner has passed away.
Family members said that Roger Tofte (above) who created
the park south of Salem off of Interstate 5 more than half a
century ago, has died at age 96.
Tofte built much of the park by hand, opening it to the public
in August of 1971.

he was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in late 2024.

The Eagles are disbanding in 2026 after a lengthy farewell
tour.
The "Hotel California" group formed in 1971 and has been
playing shows on The Long Goodbye tour since 2023, and
they are currently performing a residency at the Sphere in
Las Vegas, which is set to continue until the end of
February.
