Report: Clarence "Frogman" Henry dies at age 87

EW ORLEANS (AP) — Clarence “Frogman” Henry, who was one
of New Orleans’ best known old-time R&B singers and scored a
hit at age 19 with “Ain’t Got No Home," and later with the hit song
”(I Don’t Know Why) But I Do” died Sunday night. No cause of
death was given.

Albert ‘Tootie’ Heath Dies at 88

Albert “Tootie” Heath, a legendary American jazz drummer who
played with many notable legends, has reportedly tragically died
during his battle with leukemia.

The legend played with other legends such as John Coltrane,
Herbie Hancock, and Nina Simone.

He reportedly lost his battle with cancer on April 3rd, 2024, though
news of his death is just finally beginning to circulate. He died in
Sante Fe, New Mexico.

OLDEST LITURGICAL BOOKS TO BE SOLD


Being shown is one of the oldest books in existence, the
Crosby-Schoyen Codex.

One of the oldest Christian liturgical books is expected to sell
for more than $2.6 million at an auction in London.

The Crosby-Schøyen Codex was written on Egyptian papyrus
from around 250-350 A.D., and produced in one of the first
monasteries.

"It’s right at that period, that transitional period, when papyrus
scroll starts turning into codex form," Eugenio Donadoni,
Christie’s Senior Specialist, Medieval and Renaissance
Manuscripts,
told Reuters. "So, books as we know them
today. What we have in this book is the earliest known texts
of two books of the Bible."
