CANDICE BERGEN IS 70 TODAY


Candice Patricia Bergen was born in Beverly Hills, California.

Edgar Bergen‘s daughter Candice Bergen starred as CBS-TV’s Murphy Brown
(1988-1998). She was nominated for an Academy Award for her film portrayal
of Jessica in Starting Over (1979). She began her career by appearing on her
father’s radio shows and televised guest appearances.

SINGLE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1972

The song "Take It Easy" is a song written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey,
and recorded by the Eagles with Frey singing lead vocals. It was the band’s
first single. It peaked at No. 12 on the July 22, 1972 Billboard Hot 100 chart. It
also was the opening track on the band’s debut album Eagles and it has
become one of their signature songs, included on all of their live and
compilation albums. It is listed as one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s
500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll

GAME SHOW SCHEDULED TO RETURN

(TV Guide) – The ’70s game show "Match Game" is coming back, with
Alec Baldwin picking up the long, skinny microphone originally held by
Gene Rayburn as host. According to the report, the new "Match Game"
will air for 10 episodes this summer on Sundays at 10/9c on ABC as part
of a game show block that will also include "Celebrity Family Feud"and
"
The $100,000 Pyramid."

SINGERS TV SPECIAL ON THIS DAY IN 1965

The first of Barbra Streisand’s TV specials, "My Name is Barbra", coincided
with the release of her album by the same name. It was shot in black & white
and featured no guests, just Barbra and 27 songs. The special was critically
acclaimed, won three Emmy Awards, and was followed in 1966 by her next
special "Color Me Barbra".
