MONEY FOR SOME SCENES PAID BY STAR

Fripp in the Movies | Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort

(FOXNEWS) – Forrest Gump (1994) is one of the most iconic persons
in movie history, but according to actor Tom Hanks, the film hit a
lot of
roadblocks. So much so, that Hanks and “Forest Gump”
director Robert Zemeckis had to dig into their own pockets
to pay for some scenes to be shot.

On the podcast In Depth With Graham Bensinger, the 64-year
-old actor revealed Paramount wouldn’t approve some of the
budgets, including the scenes where Forrest famously runs
across the United States (below).

Zemeckis and Hanks knew the scene was integral to the movie
and came up with their own plan.

HISTORIC BRINK’S ROBBERY ON THIS DAY IN 1950

Image result for historic brinks robbery in 1950

On January 17, 1950, 11 men steal more than $2 million ($29 million today)
from the Brink’s Armored Car depot in Boston,
Massachusetts. It was the
perfect crime—almost—as the culprits weren’t caught until January 1956,
just days before the statute of limitations for the theft expired.

The robbery’s mastermind was Anthony “Fats” Pino, a career criminal who recruited a group of 10 other men to stake out the depot for 18 months to
figure out when it held the most money. Pino’s men then managed to steal
plans for the depot’s alarm system, returning them before anyone noticed
they were gone.
