The establishment of the Veterans Administration (VA) came in 1930
when Congress authorized the president to "consolidate and coordinate
Government activities affecting war veterans". The three component
agencies became bureaus within the Veterans Administration. Brigadier
General Frank T. Hines, who directed the Veterans Bureau for seven
years, was named as the first Administrator of Veterans Affairs, a job
he held until 1945.

The United States remains one of the few developed countries
to not completely ban asbestos which is legal and still widely
used in such commonly used products as clothing, pipeline
wraps, vinyl floor tiles, millboards, cement pipes, disk brake
pads, gaskets and roof coatings. In 1989 the EPA issued the
Asbestos Ban and Phase Out Rule.

Glen Campbell has entered the final phases of his battle with Alzheimer’s,
and in a new interview, his wife Kim reveals the country and pop legend
has lost the ability to speak. Glen announced his battle with Alzheimer’s
in 2011 and was placed in a full-time care facility in 2014.
“He’s healthy, he’s content,” Kim shares with WTSP news in Tampa Bay,
Fla. “He’s lost most of his ability to communicate verbally. He has severe
aphasia, but he still understands the universal language of smiles and
kisses, and he enjoys food.”
Kim Campbell says that the family are holding onto their faith during their
trying times. “We just trust that God has a purpose for everything that we
face in our lives, and we just love each other through whatever we’re going
through. Alzheimer’s is a disease that affects the whole family.”
