Beloved actor Graham Greene, known for his roles in major
films such as The Green Mile and Dances with Wolves, has
died after leaving his mark in Hollywood.

Michael Greene, who’s Graham’s agent and unrelated to the
silver screen star, informed TMZ that the Academy Awards
nominee died at a hospital in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday
afternoon with his wife, Hilary Blackmore, next to him.

U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Guion S. Bluford became
the first African American to travel into space when the space
shuttle Challenger lifted off on its third mission.

It was the first night launch of a space shuttle, and many people
stayed up late to watch the spacecraft roar up from Cape
Canaveral, Florida, at 2:32 a.m.

The Challenger spent six days in space, during which time
Bluford and his crew members launched a communications
satellite for the government of India, made contact with an
errant communications satellite, conducted various scientific experiments, and tested the shuttle’s robotic arm.

Hurricane Katrina made landfall near New Orleans, Louisiana,
as a Category 4 hurricane on August 29, 2005. Despite being
only the third most powerful storm of the 2005 hurricane season,
Katrina was among the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.

In the wake of the storm, there were over 50 failures of the levees
and flood walls around New Orleans and its suburbs. The levee
and flood wall failures caused widespread flooding.
