WE ENTERED THE “ZONE” ON THIS DAY IN 1959

The Twilight Zone is a anthology television series created by Rod Serling (above)
which ran for five seasons on the CBS network from Friday October 2, 1959 to 
June 19, 1964. The show featured well known stars such as Ann Blyth, Ed Wynn
and Burgess Meredith. It also had actors that would later become famous like,
Ron Howard, Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, and William Shatner. In 2002,
The Twilight Zone was ranked No. 26 on TV Guide’s 50 Greatest TV Shows

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD 

Night of the Living Dead
is a 1968 independent black-and-white zombie horror film directed by George A. Romero. It was completed on a $114,00 budget and, after
decades of cinematic re-releases, it grossed $12 million domestically and $18 million internationally. Night of the Living Dead was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry as a film deemed “Culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.

best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy. More

Land of the Giants
was an hour-long science fiction television series that ran on ABC 
for two seasons beginning on Sunday September 22, 1968 and ending March 22,  
1970. The show was created and produced by Irwin Allen, nicknamed "The Master  
of Disaster" for his work in the disaster film genre.

including seven under the pen name of Richard Bachman, five non-fiction
books, and nine collections of short stories. Many of his writings are set in his
home town of Maine. King has received numerous awards, including the Medal
