INTERVIEW SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1953
Person to Person was a popular interview program on CBS-TV. It ran from Saturday October 2, 1953 to 1961. Renowned news reporter Edward R. Murrow hosted the
series until 1959. The long list of guests interviewed by Murrow included then-
Senator John F. Kennedy and his wife Jacqueline, Elizabeth Taylor, Dean Martin,
Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and Fidel Castro. With Person to Person, Murrow pioneered the concept of interviewing celebrities on television.
