Richard Dawson Kiel (September 13, 1939 – September 10, 2014)

(AP) – Actor Richard Kiel, who starred in two James Bond films as the
steel-toothed villain Jaws (below), died today.

The 7-foot-2-inch actor was best known for playing the Bond villain in
1977′s “The Spy Who Loved Me” and 1979′s “Moonraker,” but a new
generation got to know Kiel from his role in 1996′s “Happy Gilmore” as
Adam Sandler’s adversary turned ally towards the end of the film.

Kiel was recently treated at St. Agnes Medical Center, according to the
Associated Press. His cause of death was not released.

His representative Steven Stevens called him “a giant actor, a giant man,
[and] a giant friend.”

beginning as a private in the Union Army and ending as a brevet

     Ben (Bernard) Turpin (September 19, 1869– July 1, 1940)

Turpin was a comedian and actor, best remembered for his work in silent
films. His famous eyes, he said, only crossed as a young adult after he 
suffered an accident. Turpin was convinced that the crossed eyes were
essential to his comic career; his co-workers recalled that after he received
any blow to the head he made a point of looking at himself in the mirror to
assure himself that they had not become uncrossed.

Raquel Welch (Jo Raquel Tejada)

International sex symbol Raquel Welch appeared in One Million Years B.C.
(1966). Her other films include 2001’s Legally Blonde and 1967’s The Oldest
Profession. Before fame Welch performed ballet for ten years. In 1964, she
debuted in A House is Not a Home.

Mitzi Gaynor was born Francesca Marlene de Czanyi von
Gerber in Chicago

Dancer, singer, and actress Mitzi Gaynor gained recognition for her
roles in South Pacific (1958) and There’s No Business Like Show
Business (1954). Before fame, she sang with the LA Civic Light
Opera at the age of 13.
