The first of the Walt Disney anthology television series premiered on ABC,
Wednesday night, October 27, 1954. The show was originally hosted by
Walt Disney himself presenting a series of cartoons and other material from
the studio library. One-hour edits of recent Disney films were also aired and
occasionally, educational segments would be featured. The television series
continued to be produced by the Walt Disney Company under several titles
until 2008.

GUNFIGHT TOOK PLACE ON THIS DAY IN 1881

The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral was approximately a 30-second gunfight that took
place in the afternoon of Wednesday October 26, 1881 in Tombstone, Arizona.Tom
and Frank McLaury along with Billy Clanton were killed; Morgan and Virgil Earp and
John “Doc” Holliday were wounded and survived. Wyatt Earp was unharmed. It is regarded as the most legendary gunfight in the history of the Old West.

Sarah Bernhardt  (October 22, 1844 — March 26, 1923)
 

Bernhardt was one of the pioneer dramatic silent film actress. She has been referred
to as “the most famous actress the world has ever known”. Her career began on the
stages of France in the 1870s, and was soon in demand in Europe and America.

Actress Joan Fontaine and her older sister Olivia de Havilland are two
of the last surviving leading ladies from Hollywood of the 1930s. Joan
is the only actor to have won an Academy Award for a performance in
