Love is on the Air is a 1937 Warner Brothers film directed by Nick Grinde. It stars
Ronald Reagan and June Travis. This was Reagan’s screen debut and for his
work in the movie, Reagan received $200 a week. The film took just three weeks
to shoot and received generally positive reviews. The Hollywood Reporter was
especially generous in its praise, saying, "Love Is on the Air presents a new
leading man, Ronald Reagan, who is a natural, giving one of the best first
picture performances Hollywood has offered in many a day."

Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 independent black-and-white zombie horror film directed by George A. Romero. It was completed on a $114,00 budget and, after
decades of cinematic re-releases, it grossed $12 million domestically and $18 million internationally. Night of the Living Dead was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry as a film deemed “Culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.
STELLA STEVENS TURNED 73 TODAY
Film, television and stage actress Stella Stevens began her acting career in
1959. she starred in such films as The Nutty Professor (1963), The Courtship
of Eddie’s Father (1963), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Stella is also
a producer and director of films. In 1960, Stevens was Playboy magazine’s
Playmate of the Month for January. She was also among the ten most
photographed women in the world.

ANGIE DICKINSON IS 80 TODAY
Actress Angie Dickinson has appeared in more than fifty films, including
Rio Bravo (1959), Ocean’s Eleven (1960), Dressed to Kill (1980), and
Pay It Forward (2000). She also starred as Sergeant Suzanne “ Pepper”
Anderson in the NBC-TV crime series Police Woman, from September
13, 1974 to March 29, 1978. She won a Golden Globe Award for Best
Actress-Drama Series for the show in 1975 and received Emmy Award
nominations in 1975, 1976, and 1977 for the series.
