             Adoline E. Ceciliani     (Jan. 17, 1921 – Jan. 5, 2014)                

Adoline and her husband, Charles Carl Ceciliani who passed away in 1995,
built and operated Division Street Corral (“D-Street”) on Portland’s eastside
near 174th and Division. The popular dance hall, now a housing development,
had one of the largest dance floors in the country until 1979. Some of the live 
music artists included Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison, and Portland’s
own Heck Harper along with The Ventures and Paul Revere and the Raiders. 
 
In 2006, Adoline sold the corral and moved out of the neighborhood she called
home for 63 years.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18 at Lincoln Memorial.

VETERAN RADIO HOST HAS DIED AT 84

(FoxNews) – Bob Grant, whose familiar voice boomed over the radio
airwaves for more than 50 years, died on Tuesday, according to multiple
reports and an obituary posted on a  Funeral Home’s website.

Grant first broke into the radio biz in the 1940s and scored gigs at major
radio stations around the country before he got his big break when he
moved to New York City in the ‘70s and began working for WMCA. He 
went on to be the afternoon host for WABC.

After WABC, Grant made his way over to WOR and eventually turned to
doing Internet broadcasts in his later years.

Grant was known for his unscripted broadcasts and his conservative
viewpoints, never shying away from sharing his thoughts on the U.S.
military and Israel.

Grant authored the book “Let’s be Heard” in 1996 and received the
"Freedom of Speech Award" of the National Association of Radio Talk
Show Hosts that same year.

He is survived by his four children, eight grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.

DRUMMER DIES AT 59

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Studio drummer Ricky Lawson, who collaborated
with Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Whitney Houston and other
artists, has died at a California hospital after suffering a brain aneurism earlier
this month.

Lawson became disoriented Dec. 13 during a show in Seal Beach, Calif., and
was diagnosed with an aneurism.

Paul Riser of Detroit told The Associated Press on Tuesday that his nephew
was removed from life support after 10 days and died Monday evening.

Lawson was being treated at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center.

The Detroit native jumped into the music business even before graduating from
Cooley High School, and he became one of the nation’s top studio musicians in
the 1980s.

His work appears on Houston’s version of "I Will Always Love You."

COUNTRY LEGEND HAS DIED AT 87

(January 12, 1926 – December 16, 2013)

On December 2, 2013, Price entered a Tyler, Texas, hospital in the final
stages of pancreatic cancer, according to his son, then left on December
12 for home hospice care. He died at his home on Monday.

"For the Good Times" is a 1970 song written by Kris Kristofferson. It
was awarded “Song of the Year” by the Academy of
 Country Music
and was Price’s fifth #1 single and spent a total of nineteen weeks
on
the country chart. “For the Good Times” crossed over to the pop
chart at number eleven. It became Ray Price’s only release to hit the
Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
