Los Angeles (AP) – Joe Weider, a legendary figure in bodybuilding who
helped popularize the sport worldwide and played a key role in introducing
a charismatic young weightlifter named Arnold Schwarznenegger to the
world died Saturday.

Weider’s publicist, Charlotte Parker, told The Associated Press that the
bodybuilder, publisher and promoter died of heart failure at his home in
Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Colin Trevorrow is taking the reins of "Jurassic Park."
Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced Thursday that the
36-year-old director will helm "Jurassic Park 4."

Trevorrow made his feature film directorial debut with last year’s "Safety Not
Guaranteed."

Steven Spielberg is executive producing "Jurassic Park 4," which is set for
release in 3-D on June 13, 2014. The script was written by "Rise of the Planet
of the Apes" screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

The first two "Jurassic Park" films were directed by Spielberg, while the third
installment was helmed by "Captain America" director Joe Johnston.

The dinosaur franchise has grossed $1.9 billion at the box office worldwide
since the first film was released in 1993.

The original "Jurassic Park" will be rereleased in theaters April 5 in 3-D.

SINGER BOBBY ROGERS, DEAD AT 73

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (AP) — Bobby Rogers, a founding member of Motown
group The Miracles and a songwriting collaborator with Smokey Robinson,
died Sunday morning at his suburban Detroit home.

Motown Museum board member Allen Rawls said Rogers had been ill for
several years.

Rogers formed the group in 1956 with cousin Claudette Rogers, Pete Moore,
Ronnie White and Robinson. Their hits included "Shop Around," ”You’ve
Really Got a Hold on Me," ”The Tracks of My Tears," ”Going to a Go-Go,"
”I Second That Emotion" and "The Tears of a Clown."

Rogers and The Miracles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
in 2012. He was too ill to attend the ceremony.

TV MOM DIES AT 69!

(AP) – Bonnie Franklin, the pert, redheaded actress whom millions came
to identify with for her role as divorced mom Ann Romano on the long-
running sitcom "One Day at a Time," has died.

She died Friday at her home due to complications from pancreatic cancer,
family members said in a statement. Her family had announced she was 
diagnosed with cancer in September.

Franklin was a veteran stage and television performer before "One Day At
a Time" made her a star. Her  family said a private memorial will be held
next week,

CELEBRATED PIANIST IS DEAD AT 78

"Van" Cliburn, Jr. (July 12, 1934 – February 27, 2013)

(AP) – Van Cliburn, the internationally celebrated pianist whose triumph at a 1958 Moscow competition helped thaw the Cold War and launched a spectacular career
that made him the rare classical musician to enjoy rock star status, has died.

Cliburn died early Wednesday at his Fort Worth home surrounded by loved ones 
following a battle with bone cancer, said his publicist and longtime friend Mary
Lou Falcone.

Cliburn made what would be his last public appearance in September at the 50th anniversary of the prestigious piano competition named for him.
