The Joy Buzzer

Soren Sorenson Adams (May 24, 1879 – October 20, 1963) was a
Danish-born inventor who founded Adams Magic Manufacturing in
1906. He created novelty products such as the Joy Buzzer, Cachoo
Sneeze Powder, the Dribble Glass and the Exploding Cigar.

Other prank products included the nut can with a spring snake. He
was once offered the rights to the Whoppee Cushion, but deemed
it “too indelicate”. He is credited with having invented over 650 joke
shop items.

Dr. Medicine Company, makers of Aka-Seltzer, introduced the
"Speedy" character in 1951. He was originally conceived by
Creative Director George Pal of the Wade Ad Agency and
designed by illustrator Wally Wood. Originally named Sparky,
the name was changed to Speedy to align with that year’s
promotional theme, "Speedy Relief." He appeared in over
200 TV commercials between 1954 and 1964, voiced by
Dick Beals (shown above).

ONE OF THE ALL-TIME GREAT FADS!

 PhoneBoothStuffing2

Phone booth stuffing was a fad that began during the 1950s in Durban, South
Africa
and soon spread to Britain, Canada and the United States by the spring
of 1959. It involved seeing how many people could stuff a phone booth until it
would accommodate no more. At some colleges as many as 25 students had
managed to cram some of their body into a standard phone booth. Earlier
fads included goldfish swallowing and flagpole sitting.

IT’S THE LAST ONE FOR 89 YEARS!

12-12-12
Alliteration date

December, 12, 2012 or 12-12-12 is the last repetitive date for some time. The next
won’t be until January 1, 2101, or 01-01-01.

Many people have planned events such as weddings and other special activities to
help celebrate this unique, once in a lifetime date. Many expectant parents also
hope to deliver their baby on this day.
