RARE PHOTO OF PRESIDENT LINCOLN FOUND

newlincolnphoto
An ultra rare photo of Abraham Lincoln (center) taken during the time of his
address at Gettysburg was discovered by a former Disney animator.

FoxNews – Historians rejoiced at the discovery of the second photo ever found of Abraham Lincoln at the Gettysburg address six years ago. The blurry photo was
found by amateur historian John Richter who picked out the president while on
horseback saluting the troops from among a sea of faces (below).

Tuesday morning, with the help of improved technology, former Disney animator Christopher Oakley announced he had found Lincoln in the same crowd — only his Lincoln is a few yards to the right in front of the speaker’s stand. Richter’s Lincoln
is just a top-hat-wearing doppelganger, Oakley says.

Now, historians who once supported Richter’s photo are switching sides and saying Oakley’s photo is the real deal.

(AP) -  A rare portfolio of photographs from Marilyn Monroe’s last
sitting is up for grabs to the highest bidder.

Freeman’s auction house in Philadelphia estimates the limited-
edition portfolio of 10 photos, made from fashion photographer
Bert Stern’s original negatives from his June 1962 assignment
for Vogue, could fetch $10,000 to $15,000 when it goes on the
block Sept. 10.

The photos will be on view to the public starting Sept. 6, said
Aimee Pflieger, head of the century-old auction house’s photo
division.

Stern, who died in June at age 83, took more than 2,500 photos
of the Hollywood icon over three days at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los
Angeles. The 20-by-20-inch portfolio photos are from the first day.
